FEAR

What is it that 'scares you to death"? What sends shivers up your spine, raises the hair on your arm, makes you want to run, lock your doors, jump on a chair, hide under the covers, sit on the closet floor? Do you freak out with the thought of seeing a mouse, public speaking, spiders, falling down, climbing up or just sitting still? Do you fear failure, or success, needles, water, flying, fire or dying? What about dentists, trains or crossing bridges, fear of church (yes, there is a phobia name for that) or standing on ledges. Is it the fear of dogs or frogs that steals your breathe?          FEAR -A powerful emotion that can have a powerful response. Whether the fear comes from reality or our imaginations, response to fear can literally cause us to get physically ill. It can make our spirits go down and our blood pressure go up. FAITHlift - It's Amazing What A "Little Work" Can Do

I write a bulletin/newsletter especially for the single moms in the Together Program at Boles Children's Home and the ladies that work there as well.  I named this bulletin, "FAITHlift - It's amazing what a 'little work' can do.  This is one of the first front page articles I put on the bulletin/newsletter. Teenagers and now these days, preteen girls are wishing upon a star that they look like that girl on the magazine cover. But we know that the computer has gotten the pic...

"Don't just DO something ---- Stand There !"

*That's not exactly the way you've heard that phrase said, now is it? No, this is how it goes. There's some kind of emergency happening and everyone is just standing around watching it, stunned, frozen like a deer in headlights when someone shouts, "Dont just STAND THERE, DO SOMETHING!" Then somebody will awake from this state of shock and call 911 or get a towel to wipe up the spilled milk. Right after something scary, shocking, upsetting, disturbing, or even joyous, happens, there is that split second where we just stand there and calculate our next move. Should we run away from it or toward it? Fight or flight. Yell or cry. Recue or revenge. We don't even realize this is happening, but the end result tells us the choice we made, whether retreated or responded. So, what's the point of this title? *There are times in our DAILY life, we need to just STOP DOING STUFF. I am famous, or should I say 'infamous' for doing, doing, doing. I get it hon...
